Insenso / Opera

One of the most distinctive and emblematic performances of the Athens Festival 2012, “Insenso / Opera” by Dimitris Dimitriadis, directed by Michail Marmarinos, was hosted in an area of the "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Centre, where the first part of the performance took place, transforming the outdoor space into a unique scenic landscape.

Konstantinos Rigos | "Dressed Naked"

Dressed-naked, "cover" and "reveal." The body as a tool of beauty or as a machine of decay is the field where Konstantinos Rigos’ new performance unfolds. The protagonists are two men without identity, dressed in modern everyday clothing. As the action progresses, they will shed their clothes, intentionally or unintentionally, to remain as two naked bodies within a defined space from which they cannot escape. The space, empty of objects, emphasizes the isolation surrounding the figures and makes their forced coexistence painfully tangible.

LES MISÉRABLES | 2023-2024

The Foundation of the Hellenic World that traditionally stages the largest and most spectacular productions for both young and adult audiences, will present this year the iconic work of Victor Hugo "LES MISÉRABLES". After the huge success of "OLIVER TWIST" by Charles Dickens, the direction and theatrical adaptation of the popular 19th-century masterpiece is signed by Konstantina Nikolaidi, along with a cast of 22 acclaimed and talented actors.

My Beloved Smyrna In Concert

Andreas Katsigiannis, the composer of the theatrical play and the film "My Beloved Smyrna," comes for two unique concerts at the "Theatron" of the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre. This is the same venue where Mimi Denissi's theatrical performance was sold out for three consecutive years. Along with the Estoudiantina Neas Ionias, Glykeria, Pantelis Thalassinos, Thodoris Mermigas, and Sofia Mermiga, they will perform musical moments and songs from both the play and the film, written by Mimi Denissi and directed by Grigoris Karantinakis.

The Foundation of the Hellenic World, after the huge success of the summer tour, welcomes the new satirical comedy «Neither Forward nor Backward» by Thanasis Papathanasiou and Michalis Reppas, produced by the company Methexis of Christos Tripodis. «Our Big Circus» by Iakovos Kambanellis

The Foundation of the Hellenic World presents for the 2025-2026 theatrical season the play “Our Great Circus” by Iakovos Kambanellis, with music by Stavros Xarchakos and directed by Petros Zoulias. The work follows, in a dramatic but also humorous way, the course of Greek history. The songs, performed live by Kostas Triantafyllidis and the entire troupe with the orchestra on stage, alternate with the narration and compose a work full of emotion and historical references.

Rudolf Nureyev: Leap to Freedom!

The Laborer on the Roof

This winter, Lakis Lazopoulos climbs onto the roof. Following exactly the path of the nerves of the average Greek. A house sinks, the river overflows, no one will be left. The river sweeps everything away! On the roof, Lakis Lazopoulos, as a modern-day Odysseus, sinks just as our lives sink today. The past begins to knock insistently at the door and demands to take its place. The story of the Modern Greek from 1960 until today, the dissolution of the “we,” the rise of the “I,” the descent of emotions, the passage into corruption, the ridicule of the Greek in history.

The Legend of Mulan

"The Legend of Mulan", one of the most famous myths worldwide, is presented for the first time in Greece by the children's stage of Christos Tripodis and the company Methexis, in the Iphigenia Hall of the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre. The Foundation of the Hellenic World presents the theatrical play "The Secret of Countess Valeraina" by Grigoris Xenopoulos at the "THEATRON" of the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre. The direction of the classical Greek work, considered the masterpiece of Grigoris Xenopoulos, is signed by Petros Zoulias and the role of Countess Valeraina is played by the distinguished actress Nena Menti.

"The Verdict" by Barry Reed

The «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre welcomes from November 1st the theatrical play "The Verdict" by Barry Reed, adapted for the stage by Margaret May Hobbs. The role of the fierce and uncompromising lawyer in a dark and complex case is portrayed by the exceptional Grigoris Valtinos. After the huge success of "DA" by Hugh Leonard, with Grigoris Valtinos in the leading role, Petros Zoulias takes on the task of directing a deeply social courtroom drama in an ambitious production by the Foundation of the Hellenic World and Thiasis Cultural Actions.

Theatrical Multimedia Performance for the 10 Years of the "Hellenic Cosmos"

On June 3, 2008, a contemporary theatrical multimedia performance was presented at the "Theatron", as part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the "Hellenic Cosmos". The original theatrical event, which aptly depicted the vision, goals and course of the Cultural Centre, under the direction of Giannis Kakleas, set the tone for the event.

Time By Wolves

The Wolves Academy presents for the first time the unique and original acrobatic performance «TIME». An exciting journey through time through artistic gymnastics, acrobatics, and dance. 400 acrobats and dancers participate in the spectacular production, which was created by top artists.

Toneelhuis - Guy Cassiers | «Mephisto Forever»

With a performance centered on the satanic allure of power, the pioneering Guy Cassiers – director of the largest theater in Flanders – is introduced to the Greek audience. Based on Klaus Mann's novel *Mephisto* (1936), which focuses on an actor's collaboration with the Nazis, the production *Mephisto Forever* (the first part of the "Power Trilogy") addresses, in contemporary terms, the issues of art and politics, passion and opportunism. The serious and sarcastic tone of the text, the powerful performances, and the direction – a blend of theatrical poetry and technology – result in an explosive cocktail.

The explosive comedy by Eleni Randou, based on Neil Simon's adaptation of Chekhov's short stories, is presented in the Iphigenia hall of the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre. After the continuous sold-out performances during the summer tour across Greece and the great success it had at the "Atrium" of the «Hellenic Cosmos», it continues for a second year in an impressive production by the "Methexis" company of Christos Tripodis from November 2nd.

We Lost Aunt Stop

The masterpiece by Giorgos Dialegmenos, «We Lost Aunt Stop», comes to life this summer at the Atrium of the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre, in a production by the theater production company Methexis and directed by Christos Tripodis. The grieving relatives (in alphabetical order): Jenny Diagoupi, Joyce Eveidi, Vivian Kontomari, Natassa Kotsovou, Giorgos Souxes, Orestis Tziovas, Haris Chiotis.

The emblematic work of Nikos Kazantzakis "The Life and Times of Alexis Zorbas" in a theatrical adaptation by Giannis Kakleas and Gerasimos Evaggelatos and directed by Giannis Kakleas is staged from October 19th at the "Theatron" of The "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Centre.

H Σύγχρονη Σχολή Σ. Αυγουλέα-Λιναρδάτου γιόρτασε στις 6 Μαΐου 2009 τα εξήντα της χρόνια στην εκπαίδευση με μια χοροθεατρική-μουσική παράσταση στο «ΘΕΑΤΡΟΝ» του «Ελληνικού Κόσμου». Η παράσταση παρουσίαζε την πολύπλευρη δράση του σχολείου, συνδυάζοντας το χοροθέατρο, τη μουσική τη φωτογραφία αλλά και την εικονική πραγματικότητα.

Για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα, μια παράσταση - εργαλείο για την εκπαίδευση μαθαίνει στα παιδιά να αναγνωρίζουν και να προφυλάσσονται από τους «λύκους» του Διαδικτύου. Συνάντηση με το Μεγάλο Κανάλι

Η παράσταση παρουσιάζει, με τρόπο ιδιαίτερο, τη δισχιλιόχρονη ιστορία του Μεγάλου Καναλιού της Κίνας, το οποίο συνδέει τον Βορρά με τον Νότο, το Πεκίνο με τη Χανγκτσόου. Μολονότι η ιστορία είναι κινέζικη, για την αφήγησή της χρησιμοποιείται μια γλώσσα που είναι πραγματικά διεθνής: η ίδια η πολιτιστική κληρονομιά.

«Το Καρναβάλι των Ζώων» του Camille Saint-Saëns

Η εταιρεία θεατρικών παραγωγών ΜΕΘΕΞΙΣ και ο Χρήστος Τριπόδης παρουσιάζουν το διασημότερο μουσικό παραμύθι που έχει γραφτεί για παιδιά, «Το Καρναβάλι των Ζώων» (Le Carnaval des animaux) του Camille Saint-Saëns στο «Θέατρον» του Κέντρου Πολιτισμού «Ελληνικός Κόσμος», στην αίθουσα «Ιφιγένεια». Το έργο παρουσιάζεται σε κείμενα του Γιώργου Γαλίτη και ενορχήστρωση του Αλέξανδρου Γκόνη, σε μεταγραφή για πιάνο, βιολί, φλάουτο, βιολοντσέλο, μεταλλόφωνο και κρουστά.
