Hellenic Cosmos has presented a wide range of activities: interactive exhibitions, exhibitions with modern subject matter, Virtual Reality tours to monuments and sites of our cultural heritage, acclaimed documentaries on Hellenism outside the Greek borders, surfing the Internet, at the Foundation's web site about Hellenic history, and original educational programmes which are designed and materialized by the Foundation's Museum Educators Department. In addition, there are hosted artistic and music events, as well as festivals, lectures and seminars.
In the context of the dialogue between the humanities and new technologies, the Foundation of the Hellenic World organizes international conferences at the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre, with great impact and the aim of theoretical study of emerging issues, exchange of views, and drawing conclusions.
The trireme "Olympic Idea" was launched in 2002 at the port of Piraeus and set sail for Otranto in southern Italy and the Greek-speaking villages of the neighboring country. The "Olympic Idea" anchored at the "Hellenic Cosmos" in 2004 and has since then welcomed children who admired it – and in turn, it took them on journeys through mythical and historical worlds. Through the educational programs of the "Hellenic Cosmos," voyagers have traveled again from Jason and Odysseus to Vasco da Gama and Magellan.
The Foundation of the Hellenic World is the first organization in the world to utilize virtual reality technology for cultural heritage topics. It is also the second globally to install such pioneering systems in a museum space open to the public. The programs presented are aimed at both adults and students, demonstrating that the most modern technology can be utilized in education.
The "Virtual Cinema" of the "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Center offers a unique interactive experience for young and old, giving them the opportunity to visit historical monuments and sites of our cultural heritage.
The Foundation of the Hellenic World (FHW) utilizes cinematic documentaries as a means to disseminate Greek culture developed within and beyond national borders. It creates productions that combine artistic imagery with historical documentation. The role of modern technology is also significant, with the use of three-dimensional digital reconstructions of monuments that no longer exist, a project of the corresponding department of FHW.

The «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre offers Educational Programs for children 5 to 8 years old, which are designed and implemented by the Museological-Educational Department and take place in all the fully equipped indoor and outdoor spaces of the «Hellenic Cosmos».
The children's choir of the Foundation of the Hellenic World invites children aged 8 to 18, who love music, to become part of a vibrant community of sound, expression, and joy. No musical knowledge is required, only the desire to join your voice with others and discover the magic of collective creation. Each rehearsal is an experience that cultivates the voice, strengthens the soul, and creates collective soundscapes full of harmony and emotion. The children's choir will be conducted by Matthaea Spitadaki.
The “Hellenic Cosmos” welcomes the new school year with new educational programs and activities that cater to all age groups. The programs are designed and implemented by the Museum Educators Department. Children are encouraged to collaborate, observe, investigate, and create.

The Foundation of the Hellenic World and the Hellenic Center for Cinema, Audiovisual Media and Creation - Creative Greece signed a Memorandum of Cooperation defining the framework of their joint actions in the field of digital games, creative technology, and immersive emerging technologies. The Memorandum was signed by Ms. Sofia Kounenaki Efraimoglou, Executive Vice President of the Board of Directors of the FHW, and Mr. Leonidas Christopoulos, CEO of HCCAMC – Creative Greece.
The Foundation of the Hellenic World takes part in the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair, which takes place from September 6 to 14, 2025. The FHW, as the first institution to use new technologies and virtual reality for the promotion and dissemination of culture, welcomes the public at Pavilion 17, Stand 19 and invites you to explore some of the innovative applications it has developed, as well as the latest projects in which it participates.
The Foundation of the Hellenic World, as a pioneering organization in the utilization of new technologies in the field of culture, is participating in the internationally recognized Extended Reality exhibition, Augmented World Expo, which is taking place in the United States of America. This participation marks another significant step in the promotion and dissemination of the rich Greek cultural heritage to a global audience.
A Memorandum of Cooperation aiming to promote Greek tradition, Greek culture and history, Greek language education, as well as the Greek creative sector, was signed on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by the Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, Maira Myrogianni, and the Executive Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Foundation of the Hellenic World, Sofia Kounenaki Efraimoglou, in the presence of the Deputy Minister responsible for Greeks Abroad, Yiannis Loverdos.
The Foundation of the Hellenic World is launching a new collaboration with the Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida for the digitization and digital promotion of 15 churches-monuments and 60 mobile relics of high cultural, historical, and religious significance under the responsibility of the Metropolis of Fthiotida, as well as the creation of 11 religious routes-destinations and their online presentation using advanced information and communication technologies.
With the presence of His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Ieronymos II, the completion event of the co-financed Project "Digitization of Sacred Relics of Parish Churches" with MIS 6003375, organized by the Foundation of Pastoral Education of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, was held with great success and a large turnout of guests on Thursday, October 3, at the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre. The purpose of this project was the digital recording of the valuable ecclesiastical relics of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens and the Holy Monastery of Hosios Loukas, which constitute an important part of our country's cultural and spiritual heritage.
