Athens 1913
One of the most important creators of modern Greece is born.
He is born in a city surviving between dreams and upheavals.
Joys and sorrows. Laughter and sobs.
And time keeps flowing… silently, relentlessly… carrying away eras, people, moments. Because time has a strange way of teaching us to laugh at what once hurt us and to feel moved by what once made us laugh.
113 years
Since the birth of a child destined to see life differently.
To observe it, to satirize it, to love it deeply.
Through his words, his stories, and his inexhaustible humor, an entire Greece unfolds.
A Greece that changes, that loses and rediscovers itself.
A Greece human, tender, contradictory.
This performance is not simply a tribute.
It is a journey. A journey through the chronicles that recorded an era. Through the women who marked his life and inspiration.
Through the songs that dressed moments of theatre and cinema.
Through his personal narrations — at times bright, at times nostalgic. Through Alekos’ eyes pass figures we loved and grew up with. Aliki, Jenny, Vembo, Sperantza, Vassiliadou, Finos, and so many others…
On stage, the past converses with the present.
Laughter intertwines with emotion.
And memories come alive once again… not as something distant, but as something familiar.
Because perhaps in the end…
this is not a story about just one person.
It is the story of all of us.
1913 – 2026
113 years since the birth of Alekos Sakellarios...
113 years of memory...
113 years from a Greece lost in time...
Joys and sorrows. Laughter and sobs.
And time keeps passing... fading... changing...
Time makes us laugh at what once made us cry
and cry at what once made us laugh...
