On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Jules Verne, one of the most important authors of all time and a pioneer of science fiction, the "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Centre presents the international interactive exhibition "JULES VERNE 200: The Fascinating Experience".
The music of Stranger Things will be performed live in Greece for the very first time by its original composers, on Saturday, 19 September, at the Theatron of the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre (254 Piraeus Street). Following the epic conclusion of Netflix’s global phenomenon, Emmy Award-winning composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein (of the band S U R V I V E) bring to the stage the ultimate live celebration of the series’ entire journey. Their tour offers a complete sonic retrospective spanning all five seasons, from the iconic opening theme that first captivated audiences in 2016 to the powerful, evolving soundscapes of the recently released fifth season.
The Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre presents the painting exhibition “Vlasis Fryssiras – Double Portrait: The Collector, the Painter”, opening on 28 September 2026. The exhibition explores every aspect of the lifelong relationship that Vlasis Fryssiras, one of Greece’s most distinguished art collectors, developed with the art of painting.

The theatrical play “MANOLIS | heart on four strings” in a new direction by Ioli Andreade comes this summer to the Atrium of the "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Centre, produced by the "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Centre of the Foundation of the Hellenic World and Methexis company of Christos Tripodis.
The Foundation of the Hellenic World presents the classic masterpiece Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy during the 2026–2027 season at the Theatron of the The "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Centre. Director Petros Zoulias, following the great success of Our Great Circus by Iakovos Kampanellis, undertakes a contemporary adaptation and stage version of Anna Karenina. This is an ambitious large-scale production that will be brought to life under his direction. The title role of the iconic heroine of world literature will be performed by Lena Papaligoura, while Giannis Tsortekis will portray her husband, Karenin.
Following the tremendous success of The Hunchback of Notre-Dame by Victor Hugo, directed by Konstantina Nikolaidi, the production returns for a second season, having been embraced by audiences of all ages for its timeless beauty. Travel to Athens of the 5th century BC, where you will see all the buildings that were on the "Sacred Rock" reconstructed before your eyes in every detail and to their actual scale and dimensions. Using new technologies, the viewer has the opportunity to admire the most complex buildings of the Acropolis from an architectural perspective, such as the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Propylaea, as well as the statues that adorned them in 3D and in their natural colors, as they were when they were created.

After the death of Emperor Manuel I Komnenos in 1180, a period of disintegration and decline begins for Byzantium, which culminates in the Fall of Constantinople to the Crusaders of the 4th Crusade in 1204. The "Tour of the Ancient Agora" shown in the "Tholos" is entirely produced by the Foundation and is part of its broader focus on Greek history and culture. Viewers are guided through the area of the Ancient Agora, and with the guidance of a specialized museum educator, they have the opportunity to choose their own path. The representation of the Agora at three different moments in its history allows visitors to understand its evolution over time and the changes in the functions of the space from one era to another, as reflected in its architectural and urban planning differences.
A complete virtual tour of the sacred site of ancient Olympia in the 2nd century BC. Monuments and sacred buildings come to life, giving visitors the opportunity to become "participants" in the events and rituals of the Olympic Games and to learn about the history of the city.
The city of Miletus on the western coast of Asia Minor, one of the most important cities of Ionia, is revived in the Virtual Reality production "A Walk Through Ancient Miletus". The advanced specifications that characterize the environment of the "Tholos" offer unique experiences of immersion and exploration. Thus, visitors have the opportunity to visit the city as it was 2,000 years ago, to discover its most important public buildings, to admire -in panoramic view- its perfect urban design, the work of Hippodamus, and even to "dive" into its harbor.
The "Tholos" film "Titans of the Ice Age" brings to life a harsh and beautiful era, when saber-toothed felines, giant sloths, and hairy mammoths inhabited the Earth, while our ancient ancestors were developing art, language, and hunting skills, trying to understand and survive in the harsh world around them.
The 3D film titled "Darwin: The Mystery of Nature" is presented in the Tholos, the Virtual Reality theater of the Hellenic Cosmos, since November 2011. The film promises an adventurous journey of discovering the evolution of life on our planet through Darwin's eyes. The impressive graphics on the 360° screen of the Tholos, the music by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, and the narration by actor Giannis Bezou, guarantee that the film "Darwin: The Mystery of Nature" will "enchant" both young and old.
The ancient city of Priene in Asia Minor, the most extensively excavated Hellenistic city of Asia Minor and an excellent example of Hellenistic architecture, comes to life in the IME production "Tour of Ancient Priene". With the creation of a structured environment that is clear and balanced, the city expressed the mature philosophical and political thought of the classical era. Public buildings, private residences, and temples are the stops on this tour of the Anatolian city.

The Innovation Competition for Startups and innovative entrepreneurial teams in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Extended Reality (XR), organized by the Foundation of the Hellenic World as part of the 2026 Thessaloniki International Fair, was successfully completed.
The Foundation of the Hellenic World participates in the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair, which takes place from September 5 to 13, 2026. The FHW, as the first organization to use new technologies and virtual reality to promote and disseminate culture, welcomes the public at Pavilion 12 of the Ministry of Digital Governance and invites you to explore some of the innovative applications it has developed, as well as the latest projects in which it participates. The FHW's participation in the TIF aims to highlight the potential of virtual reality technologies and inform the public about developments in areas related to technology and culture.
Dimitris Efraimoglou (CEO of the Foundation of the Hellenic World) speaks to Eleftheria Georgakaina about the vision behind the "Hellenic Cosmos" and how an innovative initiative managed to change the way we experience history. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Foundation of the Hellenic World and the International Creative Academy (ICA) of Egypt, with the aim of collaboration in the fields of creative industries, cultural innovation, and education.
The Foundation of the Hellenic World and the Hellenic Center for Cinema, Audiovisual Media and Creation - Creative Greece signed a Memorandum of Cooperation defining the framework of their joint actions in the field of digital games, creative technology, and immersive emerging technologies. The Memorandum was signed by Ms. Sofia Kounenaki Efraimoglou, Executive Vice President of the Board of Directors of the FHW, and Mr. Leonidas Christopoulos, CEO of HCCAMC – Creative Greece.

H Encyclopedia of the Hellenic World (EHW) is an original electronic project focused on the collection, documentation, presentation, and promotion of historical data on the presence of Hellenic cultural elements throughout its spatial and temporal evolution. The EHW primarily includes entries from regions outside the borders of the Greek state.
The IME-WebTV and IME-FLIX showcase selected productions and activities of the Foundation of the Hellenic World. IME-WebTV offers live streaming, while IME-FLIX provides video-on-demand. Among other things, you can watch the cinematic productions of the Foundation of the Hellenic World, as well as other audiovisual material focusing on the works and actions of the Foundation. The Temple of Zeus, a model of a Doric peripteral temple, the Heraion, the oldest monumental building of the sanctuary, the Gymnasium, the Palaestra, the Bouleuterion, the Stadium where most of the contests were held, as well as the Treasuries of various cities are the highlights of the tour in the place where the Olympic Games were born!

The Foundation of the Hellenic World presents the virtual tour of the exhibition featuring the outstanding works selected by the Jury Committee as part of FHW's Panhellenic Art Competition titled: "Discovering the History of the Greek Revolution that Lives Near Me!", on the occasion of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the National Rebirth. Through a multitude of wonderful creations, the Competition's Jury Committee selected the winners, by age category, as well as the works that stood out to participate in the exhibition.
The exhibition "On the Side of the Wise and the Mad: Tribute to Theophilos Hatzimichail" with over seventy older and recent works by distinguished contemporary Greek artists, brings together significant new and important older works with the generous contribution of their collectors - including a small but precious core of original works by Theophilos.
The exhibition «DIACHRONIES», which was first presented in May 2018 at the Diachronic Museum of Larissa, is presented for the first time in Athens from February 25, 2020, at the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre. The exhibition constitutes an organic dialogue between the original exhibits from the collections of the Museum of Larissa and works by contemporary Greek visual artists.
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary (1929-2019) of the inauguration of the major construction works of the Marathon Dam and the artificial Lake Marathon, EYDAP is exhibiting artifacts from its Historical Archive for the first time, presenting unpublished material. The Anniversary Exhibition "The Great Challenge" on the history of the Marathon Dam is held at the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre (254 Piraeus Street, Tavros), from November 12, 2019, to March 29, 2020.
