A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Foundation of the Hellenic World and the organization International Creative Academy (ICA) of Egypt, with the aim of collaboration in the fields of creative industries, cultural innovation, and education.

The Memorandum was signed by the Executive Vice President of the Foundation of the Hellenic World and President of the "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Centre, Ms. Sophia Kounenaki Efraimoglou, and the President of ICA, Dr. Hany Barakat, in the presence of the Commercial Counselor and Head of the Commercial Office at the Embassy of Egypt in Greece, Ms. Marwa Abu El Sadat Aly.

Its signing confirms the intention to strengthen joint actions between Greek and Egyptian institutions in the fields of culture, education and training, digital productions, research, as well as the empowerment of young creators and entrepreneurs. Particular emphasis is placed on the exchange of know-how, the co-creation of cultural programs, and the connection of cultural heritage with contemporary creation and technology.

Statement by Sophia Kounenaki-Efraimoglou

“Creative industries today constitute one of the most dynamic and resilient pillars of the modern economy. They connect culture with innovation, education with entrepreneurship, and creativity with sustainable development.

Through this collaboration, the Foundation of the Hellenic World seeks to contribute to the shaping of an open ecosystem of cultural creation that empowers young creators, leverages digital capabilities, and promotes intercultural dialogue between Greece and Egypt.”

The Memorandum of Cooperation provides, among other things, for the organization of joint exhibitions and cultural actions, educational and training programs, collaborations in digital cultural applications (VR/AR), research initiatives, as well as actions supporting youth creative entrepreneurship.

The agreement is part of the broader vision of both organizations to highlight creative industries as a bridge for cultural cooperation, economic development, and international outreach.

Statement by Dr. Hany Barakat

“This Memorandum of Cooperation constitutes an important milestone for the creation of a strong and sustainable bridge between Egypt and Greece through the power of creative industries. Our collaboration with the Foundation of the Hellenic World reflects our shared belief that culture, education, and innovation are key drivers of economic development and social progress.

At the International Creative Academy we aspire to transform creativity into a professional, export-oriented, and future-focused sector. This collaboration opens new horizons for young Egyptian and Greek creators, offering them access to international know-how, advanced digital technologies, and shared cultural platforms that connect cultural heritage with contemporary design and innovation.

Together, we aim to develop high-quality educational programs, digital cultural experiences, and collaborative projects that empower youth, encourage entrepreneurship, and highlight creative industries as a strategic lever of cultural diplomacy and sustainable development between the two countries.”
